Here in Europe my colors have changed to a brighter note. I can’t seem to paint depressed colors anymore. Most people seeing my work for the first time say either: it looks like you let a kid loose in a paint store or it is a painter’s painting. This room painting series combines phrases from a 1917 Dutch dictionary. With glow in the dark paint in Dutch I paint over a drawing on 300 cm high by 243 cm wide paper. Six and 1/2 paintings make up the room painting that is hung for the visitor to experience. Then I create the pathways and background of the story in oil paint. Then depending on the story, I paint the pathways and the background.
