I was born on September 17th, 1986 in sunny Los Angeles, California. My childhood consisted of sunny days, palm trees, McDonnell's cheeseburgers, and rush hour traffic.

I started college at seventeen, studying fine art and art history in Santa Barbara California. A year later, I transfered to CALARTS where I completed my undergraduate degree in Character Animation. It was there, I studied character animation as well as experimental filmmaking: hand processing, optical printing, and various forms of camera-less filmmaking. My mentors included Leo Hobica, Mike Mitchell, Cynthia Overmen, and Ted Ty.

I started my residency with AREHolland in January of 2009. I choose to apply specifically for Enschede as an artist in residency for it's beautiful location and it's close proximity to natural landscapes.

 

                                                        ANIMATION

During my residency I competed an animated short film using traditional hand drawn animation and flash to create a 3 minute video. The following video is a short clip from that film:

                                         101 WAYS TO DIE IN HOLLAND

 

I wrote and illustrated comic series called '101 ways to die in Holland' semi based on real events, which featured 101 pages of different ways to accidentally meet your end in the Netherlands.
