A beautiful day to go to the beach, 24 degrees Celsius, sunny and a light breeze. We decided to walk along the Yingbin road all the way to the sea side. After 10 minutes we were already out of the city. We followed a beautiful curvy road through the hills. Along the road there were several couples taking wedding pictures. It is custom here to take the pictures before the wedding day. We also came across many locals using the same trail for a relaxing walk or a work-out. The road ended at a crossing where tourist could take a ferry to the Bangchui Island. It was unfortunately not possible to just walk to the beach, because the area was guarded. Later we understood that this part of the seaside is owned by the government, so the way to the beach was not open to the public. Luckily Dalian has more beaches, so we are going to give it a try another day. Instead we took the road up the hillside with some amazing views over the Yellow sea and the islands. We finished our 2,5 hour walk at a coffeeshop very close to the Zhongshan Art Museum where they served the most delicious coffee and watermelon juice.
